Many people hang some outdoor decorative flags in the garden or some other places at home. When we want to replace these flags, we need to roll up the long-standing decorative flags for storage, so how should these flags be rolled up correctly?
1. Wash and dry hands thoroughly before handling garden flags
2. Place the flag on a clean, appropriately sized surface
3. Using a piece of tissue paper, wrap about 1 1/2 turns around the tube to create a header on the tube. You'll want the tissue to be wider than the flag, but not wider than the tube itself.
4. Place the flag's flash (the part that's flying in the air) on the tissue paper sticking out of the tube.
5. Place another paper towel on top of the flags to stagger the flags. You want to prevent the fabric from coming into contact with itself as it rolls.
6. Gently roll the garden flag with very light tension, smoothing out any creases or folds as you go.
7. When you get to the lift end (the end that connects to the flagpole), wrap the tube with another piece of tissue paper so the fabric doesn't show through. It also provides some padding.
8. Secure the flag with cotton straps to prevent it from unfolding. Tie knots above and below the end of the flag.
9. You also need to add a tie every 18-24 inches. These relationships shouldn't be tight. Once tied, you should still be able to easily slide a finger or two between the roll and the connection.
10. Place the rolled-up flag in the roll storage bin.
11. Label the outside of the box for easy identification
This way you can store your garden flags and have them handy the next time you want to hang them out.
