The Printing Processes For Flags

1. Screen printing

Screen printing is a long-standing flag printing process that uses dyes instead of inks for screen printing. With ink, the image is perfect on one side, but the ink will not penetrate to the other side, such as printed clothing such as T-shirts. Using dye, the image penetrates the other side of the cloth, creating a perfect image on both sides, and the reverse side is a mirror image of the front, just like a silk-screened banner. Screen printing is suitable for all kinds of flags.

2. Digital printing

Digital printing has become popular in this century, and has replaced and to a large extent replaced screen printing. Digital printing can be compared to a computer printing, because the image is printed directly on the fabric. This means that the desired image is printed by the same four-color process as the color picture on paper, which in turn means that the design complexity of digitally printed flags is almost unlimited.

3. Dye-sublimation printing

This printing process produces similar results as digital printing, because the image does not penetrate to the reverse side, and depends on the transparency of the cloth to be visible on the reverse side, so it has a similar life span according to the weight of the cloth. Dye sublimation printing refers to printing an image on paper with dye, and then transferring the dye onto the cloth by heating. Before being transferred to the fabric, it can be printed on paper by traditional screen printing or digital printing. Dye sublimation printing is generally considered to be of better quality than digital printing.
